Session 2 - In the second session we present the case study of Buckskin Girl, a 1981 Jane Doe found in a ditch along Greenlee Road in Newton Township, west of Troy OH.  The coroner officially ruled her death as being the result of strangulation. Over the years, facial reconstructions, fingerprints, dental information, DNA analysis, isotope analysis, and pollen along with extensive publicity failed to identify her. She was finally identified in 2018 using genetic genealogy as Marcia Sossoman. She had not officially been reported missing, although her mother resided at the same residence and kept the same phone number in case her daughter would ever try to contact her.  King’s father died January 5, 2018, just weeks before she was identified.
