In 2018, the BCI Brady Section conducted records check that subsequently lead to approximately 1,600 denied firearms purchases. Agents have utilized this information, and have conducted investigations into these denied persons; formulating a process in which these cases may be successfully screened through prosecution. In addition, Agents have used this information to identify potential threats within the community, and have recovered firearms in numerous cases from individuals who had previously been denied the purchase/ possession of a firearm.
